A couple weeks ago I had the honor of shooting a wedding reception in West Linn, OR for the recently married Kyle Gallagher & Kim Capano. They had a destination wedding earlier in Florida, but didn’t have the opportunity to have all of their local friends and family members attend, but didn’t want them to miss out on the celebration! They chose a historical site at the McLean House in West Linn, near the Willamette River. The grounds were well manicured, were well shaded on a hot day (which also made for good lighting!), and were big enough to hold plenty of dinner tables but also have a separate dance floor for everyone to dance the night away.
The wedding was kept simple. The couple was introduced as bride and groom, then everyone broke off and mingled while we captured the family portraits. After everyone regrouped, dinner was served. The first dance, daughter-father, and mother-son dances were held with everyone watching on. Finally, the predominantly 80′s-themed music was cranked up and everyone hit the dance floor. We had a great time shooting the event, and Kyle & Kim were awesome to work with!!!
